Online Library Card Registration
Residents
of Palos Park who are at least six years
old are eligible to register online for
a library card by filling out an online
form.
You
will receive a temporary library card
number that expires in 14 days. You may
use the temporary card number to access
the libraries “24 Hour Resources “.
Visit the library within 14 days to
complete the registration process and
receive a permanent library card number.
You must bring a valid photo ID and a
current preprinted form of
identification that has your name and
Palos Park address as proof of residence
in order to receive a permanent library
card. A parent or legal guardian must
sign for those under 18 years of age.

Permanent library cards are issued for a
period of 3 years and are renewable upon
request. Library cards issued to
residents of Palos Park are honored by
public library members of the Reaching
Across Illinois (RAILS) System.
People
living in areas untaxed for library
services may purchase a nonresident card
for an annual fee. As of June1, 2011 the
cost for this card is $185.00. Each
member of the household is entitled to a
card. The cost is the same whether an
individual or a family purchases the
card. The fee is recalculated each year
by using the Illinois State Library
General Mathematical Formula. This card
is issued for one year.
