The History of Palos Park: the Making of the Centennial Book
Thursday, Oct. 9th, 7 p.m.

Join us to celebrate the centennial anniversary of Palos Park with an illustrated presentation on the stories and photos behind the new "Palos Park" book. This program will be held at the Palos Park Recreation Center and refreshments will be served after the program. Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase at $21.99. Award winning magician and author William Pack will use storytelling and historical magic recreations to go beyond the many myths of Harry Houdini and bring to life the true stories of the world’s handcuff king, escape artist, master magician, and international superstar in this captivating and interactive program. Using Computers to Understand the Earth’s Climate
Saturday, Nov. 15th, 11 a.m.

Changes in the earth’s climate can affect the cost of food, the health of the population, and entire economies. Join Argonne National Laboratory climate scientist Dr. Robert Jacob as he shows how powerful supercomputers are used to simulate the climate system to predict weather patterns and perform virtual experiments.
